NESTING STORAGE UNIT

This modular storage system is designed to use its own inner space so that the system can store itself. It can then be assembled into an autonomous free-standing piece of furniture. This makes it easily stored and transported.

Although a relatively straight forward series of seven boxes of varying sizes, a high degree of accuracy is needed in manufacture. The door hinges, pulls and catches had to be detailed so that nothing projected, to enable the boxes to nest. Threaded inserts allow the assembled boxes to be attached to one another and to the base table.
